Google's big hardware event happens in a few days but leaks continue to flood the internet. It's not about the upcoming flagship smartphone, though, but the company's new Chromebook called the Pixelbook Go.

9to5Google has yet again managed to get a hold of the new laptop and has posted tons of photos of the machine's prototype. Previously, the site revealed some details, including the specs of the Pixelbook Go, which delighted many.

As reported last month, the Pixelbook Go sports a 13.3-inch 16:9 screen with the option between 4K and 1080p resolution. Options for processors come in three: Intel Core m3, i5, and i7. There's also the Titan C security chip, a headphone jack, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and includes up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

 

The prototype the site received comes in a charming coral hue on the bottom with the top panel on matte finish. If you can visualize the "Not Pink" Pixel 3, that appears to be the inspiration for the prototype.

While the original Pixelbook was a premium device designed to take on the likes of the MacBook and other expensive Ultrabooks, rather than a budget device like most of the best Chromebooks, it seems like the Pixelbook Go could be a more traditional - and therefore affordable - Chromebook.

The design isn't far off from Apple's laptops, but if Google is trying to show what a standard-bearer Chrome OS machine can be then this looks like a good attempt.

As the machine is a prototype of the Pixelbook Go, you can see a placeholder to where the Google logo should be, and another wordmark reads "ProductName" above the keyboard.

Google's new Chromebook is expected to be announced on Oct. 15, but this is already quite a detailed preview of what the search giant is planning to announce. Although at this point, we're not really surprised why another leaked emerged before the hardware event.

Price remains a mystery, but it could be roughly in line with the Pixel Slate, so around $799 (around £700, AU$1,200). So, while it will be cheaper than the Pixelbook, the Pixelbook Go will still be one of the more expensive Chromebooks on the market.

Google's event will take place in New York City on Oct. 15, which will see the launch of the heavily leaked Pixel 4, Pixelbook Go, the rumored Pixel Watch, and probably a lot more.
