Nokia had ensured that it becomes relevant once again in the mobile phone industry, or at least in the price-conscious consumer segment. Apparently, HMD Global would like to adopt a contemporary design for the upcoming Nokia 2020 flagship phone. Several renders of the upcoming handset surfaced online, which many believe is the successor of the Nokia 9 PureView.

The leaked images rumored to be that of the Nokia 2020 flagship phone shows the device sporting an amazing waterfall display covering the edges. The renders come from a source that we could not verify, so it is better to take this with a considerable level of skepticism. But, it is worth noting that the waterfall display of the Nokia 9 PureView successor could help drive the sales of the Finnish handset.

Waterfall displays are the latest trend in smartphones' screens that offers nearly 100 percent screen to body ratio. The images also reveal the slim but prominent top bezel that houses the front camera, several other sensors, as well as the earpiece. The Nokia 2020 flagship phone also has a wafer-thin bottom bezel.

Just like its predecessor, the back of the rumored Nokia 2020 flagship phone is packed. It houses five cameras at the rear end enclosed in a circular setup. On top is the brand Zeiss, which reveals the camera technology the upcoming flagship phone from Nokia will be using. On the left side is what seems to be an LED unit, a 3D Time of Flight sensor, and an ambient sensor.

There is also a noticeable speaker grill and a UDB-C port at the bottom part of the alleged Nokia 2020 flagship phone. Its predecessor, the Nokia 9 PureView, earlier revealed one of the areas where HMD Global failed. The company increased the number of camera sensors while failing to level up the photography capability of the device.

Tech enthusiasts are hoping that HMD Global has already learned its lessons from the Nokia 9 PureView when it comes to camera specifications. Aside from the specs mentioned earlier, the Nokia 2020 flagship smartphone is expected to house 5G connectivity and might announce it during the Mobile World Congress. While the specs and features of the Nokia 2020 flagship device look amazing, it is important to note that these details come from leaks.

As with all leaks, we advise taking these with a pinch of salt. Between today and the Mobile World Congress, we will definitely hear more about the Nokia 2020 flagship smartphone.
