Noting the range of issues iOS 13 brought since it was first rolled out in September, it is no longer a surprise that most Apple fans are already anticipating the iOS 14. While Apple has not yet officially confirmed anything related to the next iOS build, rumors and speculations are making rounds online. Here is a rundown of what we have gathered so far about the iOS 14.

iOS 14 Release Date

Looking at Apple's pattern of release, the Cupertino-based tech giant usually releases major iOS updates every September. This year, the OS 13 was released on Set. 19, a day before the iPhone 11 series and the general assumption is that it will release the iOS 14 in September 2020. The anticipated release is also ideal for the launch of the iPhone 12, which presumably, will be the first to get the next major Apple iOS.

iOS 14 Anticipated & Suggested Features

Considering that this year is the start of 5G-enabled and supported smartphones, many believe that the iOS 14 will support the next generation wireless technology connectivity, the 5G. Samsung has already introduced its premium phones with 5G connectivity, Huawei too. So, while it is too early for the 5G game, considering that mobile carriers are still building out their networks, Apple has to do something so it won't be left out.

The iOS 13 introduced a lot of features to both iPhone and iPad users, and Apple fans would like the iOS 14 to do the same. One of the most anticipated features of the next major iOS from Apple is its ability to insert links into electronic mails by copying and pasting the whole link. This would be very helpful, especially from a business perspective since more people are now using iPhones for work and business.

This particular feature could be integrated into the Apple Mail app as well as in third-party email apps like Gmail and Yahoo Mail. Another anticipated feature that fans expect Apple to introduce is tweaking the spam calls filter. The setting known as Silence Unknown Callers sends any caller not listed on the owner's contacts to the voicemail without ringing the phone.

Fans would also want to see iOS 14 to introduce more AR features. Apple is predicted to release its augmented reality glasses in the first quarter of 2020, and it would greatly help the company if it could introduce more of these features in its next major update.
