Over the past week, several sites have reported a series of leaked Motorola Razr 2019 images. The leaks reveal the company's retro folding smartphone. But it seems that Samsung is working on something to rival the Motorola Razr and a new teaser image revealing that the Seoul-based tech and electronics giant could be preparing to launch a new folding smartphone that is unlike the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2.

Based on the recent post shared by China Telecom on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, the Samsung W20 5G is releasing this November. The teaser image reveals the W20 5G name on top of a clamshell folding design similar to that of the Motorola Razr. Unknown to many, since 2011, Samsung releases each year a pricey Android-powered clamshell flip phone on selected markets.

Samsung released the W2019 in November 2018 sporting a dual 4.2-inch Super AMOLED displays with 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. The 2019 model is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform with 128 GB or 256 GB storage and 6GB of memory. It also comes with a virtual QWERTY with a T9 typing option available. The Samsung W2019 comes with a dual-camera setup at the back with 12 MP sensors. Its primary camera offers a variable aperture between f/1.5-f/2.4 packing 3070 mAh battery. It is retailed at around $2,732 at launch.


Ever since it was released in the market, the form factor of this particular Samsung smartphone series has always been a clamshell flip phone. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Fold, these devices are not foldable considering that the screens on these phones do not fold. The latest teaser released by China Telecom indicates that the Samsung W20 will be equipped with next-generation wireless network connectivity support.

Meanwhile, the Motorola Razr 2019 will be exclusively released in the US, which means other regions will have to wait for its availability in their areas. The same goes for Samsung W20 5G, which at this point is still unclear if it will be released in other regions like the US, the UK, or if it will retain its exclusive release on select regions. The Motorola Razr 2019 is scheduled to arrive in the US on November 13.
