Chinese smartphone maker Huawei will announce the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro in the first quarter of 2020, according to earlier reports. A few days ago, we reported about a render showing that the upcoming flagship smartphone will feature five rear cameras. Today, however, it appears that the Pro version of the flagship device will feature as many as seven cameras, according to new images.

The latest leaked images of the alleged Huawei P40 Pro come from a popular tipster named Teme or roDenT950 on Twitter and 9TechEleven. The new images show both the front and the rear of the upcoming smartphone. Based on the leak the Huawei P40 Pro will have as many as seven cameras starting with five rear cameras.

This rear camera setup features a main wide-angle lens, a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor, a cine lens, periscope lens with support for 10 times zoom, and either an ultra-wide lens or a telephoto lens with up to 9 times zoom capability. Additionally, a large LED flash is in the camera configuration housed in a rectangular camera module. The back of the smartphone, which is presumably made of glass appears to be curved towards the edges.

The Huawei P40 Pro could fit a 6.5-inch or 6.7-inch screen that could feature quad HD+ resolution, according to reports. Its screen to body ration is 20:9, and it will offer a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display of the upcoming Pro model is reportedly equipped with an under-display speaker. Moreover, the Huawei P40 Pro might house a Kirin 990 5G chipset and will feature 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. The phone's base model is rumored to feature 128 GB of storage. Additionally, the device might run on Android 10 OS with MUI 10.1.

If the US ban continues, the Huawei P40 Pro will not feature the Google Mobile Services. The upcoming flagship smartphone might arrive earlier than expected, which according to Teme might be officially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020 tech exhibit in Feb. 2020. Additionally, the Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 might be launched alongside the NovaBuds and Nova 6 Pro, the tipster adds.

It is worth mentioning that while these details are interesting, these are not official and are merely speculations. The specs of the Huawei P40 Pro discussed in this article are based on renders and images, which are also founded on leaks and speculations. We recommend taking these details with a spoonful of salt and with skepticism.
