Ethereum, despite being subjected to China's firewalls, continues to hold its position as the largest and most active among the layer one blockchain protocols in the country. It was discussed that developers could get around China's Great Firewall and continue their institutional growth with a borderless ecosystem.

According to Decrypt, China's Ethereum community healthily flourishes in the country and is the most active among the layer one blockchain protocols. The entity was described to be an open-source, censorship-free protocol despite the omnipresent censorship laws in China.

It was explained that The Great Firewall had been referred to as a boundary for foreign blockchain sites from gaining access to China unless the users would utilize the services of a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

It was also revealed that the Chinese government continues to monitor all social media sites and conducts regular searches on keywords with the use of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, it was also explained that the government would immediately censor posts of citizens about politically sensitive or those that relate to freedom of speech and democracy. These also include posts related to sexuality and religion.

Despite the censorships in China, it was revealed that Ethereum is allowed behind China's Great Firewall as a tamper-proof protocol. It was said that the company could manifest freedom of speech and that most of its developers have found a way around the Great Firewall with the occasional use of VPN.

According to a developer from Imtoken, Ethereum has a robust structure and that homegrown crypto wallet application could easily work around the censorships. It was revealed that the tools of Ethereum's robust infrastructure can access the blockchain with minimal restrictions.

The tools used were revealed to be Infura, a development suite that could prove API access to Ethereum along with Truffle, which is a one-stop solution to building applications. It was then revealed that both applications would enable users to gain easy access to Ethereum directly without the use of a VPN.

In other news, The Register reported that the National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Edward Snowden released a free and uncensored version of his autobiography specifically for Chinese readers. Initially, Beijing's censors omitted some parts of his mentoring program through the Great Firewall.

However, the release came with a price for Chinese readers who are not fluent in Simplified Chinese. The PDF file allegedly discussed Snowden's dissatisfaction with the American spy agency NSA's lifestyle while he worked as a contractor for the institution in Hawaii.
