There is little doubt that fans have been hoping for an update from S.Coups for a long time. After all, the leader of the boy group SEVENTEEN had announced his hiatus back in November and although Carats were disappointed that the rapper has been away from the limelight, everyone has been supportive of his decision. Interestingly, it looks like the long wait for Choi Seungcheol's return is finally over. S.Coups has just confirmed on VLive that he will be going back to work and will be joining his fellow members in their upcoming promotions and activities.
In November 2019, it was announced by Pledis Entertainment that S.Coups will withdraw from any activities involving SEVENTEEN as he seeks treatment to help deal with symptoms of anxiety. The hiatus was confirmed right before the boy group embarked on the North American leg of their Ode to You world tour. Not surprisingly, fans were disappointed to learn that Choi Seungcheol will not join the rest of SVT during the concerts. However, Carats wholeheartedly supported the rapper's decision and wished him well as he worked on gaining his health.
Although S.Coups was in hiatus, there were still some instances where the SEVENTEEN leader has been shown with his fellow members. He was part of two episodes in Going Seventeen 2020 where the idols played a game combining Don't Lie and a treasure hunt. In addition to that, Choi Seungcheol reunited with Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, and Vernon for Dino's birthday celebration in February. On top of that, the rapper has been very active on the official SEVENTEEN fancafe.
So is it finally time for S.Coups to return? Choi Seungcheol confirmed the good news in a recent VLive broadcast. His sudden broadcast had fans excited and the rapper certainly did not disappoint with his announcement. S.Coups stated that he is now much healthier and is set to go back to doing activities with the rest of SEVENTEEN.
Interestingly, S.Coups pointed out that he wanted to make the announcement himself instead of just shocking his fans by suddenly joining the new SEVENTEEN activities. Choi Seungcheol also took time to thank the Carats as well as his fellow members for their support, saying that his family and friends helped him get better sooner.
This is the best news that SEVENTEEN fans have received in the year. Although it is still unclear what activities S.Coups will take part in, Carats can rest assured that the great leader is officially back and is ready to be reunited with his fellow members.
