Apple's first-ever over-ear headphones could reportedly arrive sooner than expected. A new report claims that the rumored headphones dubbed as AirPods Studio could launch in the next few weeks. It adds that a portion of the upcoming headphones would assemble in Vietnam.

AirPods Studio Release Date

The fresh set of information about the rumored Apple over-ear AirPods Studio comes from The Information, as reported by Macrumors. According to the report, suppliers Luxshare and Goertek would handle a portion of the assembly. Interestingly, instead of the usual assembly done in China, Apple is reportedly shifting the manufacturing of the over-ear headphones to Vietnam.

The report also notes that Apple begins the manufacturing of Apple AirPods Studio in mid-2020. The timeline seemingly aligns with the earlier prediction made by TFI Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He claimed that Apple's first-ever over-ear headphones would enter into mass production in the middle of 2020. The date also corroborates with Apple's WWDC event reportedly happening on Jun 22, 2020.

AirPods Studio Rumored Specs And Features

Since 2019, there were whispers online about Apple developing over-ear headphones. However, it was in the early part of 2020 when rumors intensified following the discovery of a couple of icons in the iOS 14 code. The icons show a pair of wireless over-ear headphones. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman earlier reported that the Cupertino tech juggernaut had tested a couple of headphones' versions.

He said that the premium version of the rumored AirPods Studio is fitness-centered with leather-like fabrics. It sports breathable and light perforated materials. Gurman also noted that one version could feature magnetically swappable components. A reliable Apple tipster Jon Prosser shared AirPods Studio would be available in a wide selection of colors. The tipster also shared three various product codes and revealed that all models would retail at $399.

AirPods Studio would ship with a wide variety of fresh features, according to reports. Earlier leaks suggested that it might feature custom equalizer settings as well as ear and neck detection. It could allegedly have a customizable design and interchangeable magnetic bands. Additionally, Apple's first-ever over-ear headphones might feature Active Noise Cancellation, stand-out and fan-favorite feature of Apple AirPods Pro.

If the rumors are to go by, Apple's AirPods Studio could directly compete with Sony WH-1000XM4 or Bose. Apple has not yet confirmed the existence of the over-ear headphones. While the new set of details about the AirPods Studio is impressive, it is safer to take this information with a pinch of salt.
