Nintendo is reportedly working on a portable GameCube console, according to a new leak. If the recent rumors are to go by, it looks like the Japanese gaming giant may have a lot on its plate this year. It was earlier rumored that Nintendo is working on a new Switch model, which would reportedly arrive next year.

Nintendo is apparently working on a portable GameCube console, according to Twitter user Toruzz. The tipster shared on Twitter a technical document showing the alleged portable GameCube model. The said console could feature a dock with support for memory card, external controllers, and mini-DVD, among others, the tipster claimed.

Sadly, the leak does not reveal a lot of details about the rumored portable GameCube. It is not clear how long it would take for the company to develop the product, how much would and when it would be released. The leaked document only reveals the fact that Nintendo is looking into developing a portable version of the GameCube.

It was in 2001 when Nintendo launched the GameCube. The gaming system was a fan-favorite console, but it was not as successful as the Nintendo Switch or other Nintendo gaming systems. The console only raked less than 22 million in sales and it looks like the company is now finding a way to revive the product by introducing a portable GameCube version.

In other Nintendo news, a few days ago, the Japanese company made headlines on several sites. It was rumored working on a new Nintendo Switch model based on a recent document filed at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The document reveals that the company is seeking approval for its plan to change the RAM and System On chip (SoC) of the hybrid console.

The letter also mentions that Nintendo has to change the console's CPU board since it would change its SoC and RAM. Nintendo also notes that there would be no change in the shape of the enclosure and layout of the Switch. Apart from the document, the Japanese company also enclosed the Switch's internal and external images.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg previously reported that Nintendo is working on a new Switch model. The site claimed that the upcoming hybrid console would pack more computing power and 4K high-definition graphics. Many believed that it could be the much-awaited Nintendo Switch pro model.

In addition to Bloomberg's report, Economic News Daily also claimed that a new version of Nintendo Switch would enter into production in the late part of this year. The publication also mentioned that the said console would be released in the first quarter of 2021.
