Considering Liverpool's run last season, Jurgen Klopp has little to no reason to change the roster. But then again, if a better player is up for grabs in the open market, The Reds may just consider it. Right now, all eyes are on Thiago Alcantara of Bayern Munich.

The 29-year-old player has been linked to several clubs this summer with Liverpool and Manchester United linked to the Spanish midfielder. Assuming The Reds to succeed in taking Thiago in, Klopp will end up with plenty of midfielders at his disposal. That said, there could be some players headed out.

Among the names likely to be hit is Georgino Wijnaldum. The 32-year-old player has been doing the little things which most are unable to see. He is considered one of the important players of Klopp, playing more minutes than any other Liverpool except for Robert Firmino according to Sky Sports.

A reason for that is because Wijnaldum has found a way to stay healthy. In the last two seasons, the Dutch midfielder has missed only four games. But even if he is regularly on the field, measuring the efficiency of Wijnaldum may be a bit hard to come by.

His level of performance has dipped the past years compared to the time he was with Newcastle. He started well for Liverpool but has been on a decline, resulting in him falling down the ranks. a change of scenery could rejuvenate his fortunes and this could happen in Barcelona.

The only problem right now with Barca is that the club is in a state of turmoil. Luis Suarez is being let go and there are reports that Lionel Messi has agreed to a $1.13 billion deal with Manchester City, the Daily Record reported.

Hence, a move to Camp Nou may see Wijnaldum go from a championship-caliber club to a team that could struggle next season. Of course, that depends on how Ronald Koeman can assemble a competitive team.

For now, little is known if Barca will seriously pursue Wijnaldum. Some see it as a gamble with the dip in the Dutch player's performance in the past years. Hence, he could shine once more or flop if Blaugrana is not careful.

As far as Liverpool is concerned, there is no telling if Wijnaldum will still be around next year or not. With new and younger talent arriving, he could stay be spend more time spelling players from the first team. Anything is possible moving forward, meaning Wijnaldum will just have to wait and see.
