The alleged technical specifications of the upcoming AMD graphics cards, Navi 21, Navi 22 and Navi 23, have been leaked online confirming earlier rumors about the GPU series.

Videocardz recently reported about what seems to be a motherlode of a leak that originated on Reddit courtesy of user stblr. The latest information was obtained by reverse-engineering the drivers present in the MacOS, which, according to some enthusiasts, could be more accurate than other leaks and rumors. One of the interesting things revealed in the leak is about the AMD Navi 21 GPU or the AMD Big Navi flagship.

According to the leak, the AMD Big Navi features 80 compute units (CU). Based on AMD cards' current ratio, it could mean that it has 5120 stream processors, with each having a boost clock of 2.2 GHz. In a report from Wccftech, it calculates that the 5120 stream processors are equivalent to 22.5 teraflops. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 features 29.8 teraflops, which is over 32% than the AMD Big Navi.

Meanwhile, the AMD Navi 22 GPU features half the compute units of the AMD Big Navi. Essentially, it features 2550 stream processors based on the current ratio with a boost clock of 2.5 GHz. This is equivalent to 12.8 teraflops in terms of performance, which is slightly higher than the performance of Xbox Series X. This suggests that the mid-range AMD Navi 22 could very well support 4K gaming.

The leak also revealed the AMD Navi 23 with 32 compute units or 2048 cores. Unfortunately, there is more information on the GPU's clock speed. It could be because the upcoming graphics card is still in the pipeline. The latest leaked technical specs clearly point out that the AMD flagship GPU is short of its target competitor, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080.

However, in terms of performance, AMD could lure gamers of the AMD Big Navi's extra 6 GB of memory and probably more affordable prices. It is possible that the technical specs are not yet final, but if AMD increases the number of stream processors per compute unit, it could minimize the GPU's performance gap against the RTX 3080. The mid-range AMD Navi 22 could be competing against the GeForce RTX 3070 and probably with the RTX 3060.

AMD is anticipated to officially launch these new set of graphics cards on October 28. Fans should expect to see more leaks about the AMD RX 6000 series as the graphics cards near their release.
