There is little doubt that Star Wars fans are delighted with the return of Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian Season 2. After all, people were disappointed when the character was killed off after a brief appearance in the first season. Luckily, it looks like Disney and Lucasfilm agree that Fennec has great potential in the Star Wars Universe. A younger version of Ming-Na Wen's character has been spotted in the first teaser for the animated show The Bad Batch.

It's no secret that Star Wars: The Clone Wars is getting its own animated spin-off in The Bad Batch. The new show will focus on Clone Force 99, who was first introduced in the first four episodes of the Clone Wars final season. However, the teaser for The Bad Batch that was dropped during Disney Investor Day had an awesome surprise that connects it to The Mandalorian Season 2.

The official first look at The Bad Batch offered an awesome sneak peek at what will happen in the upcoming animated series. The teaser confirmed that Echo, Wrecker, Crosshair, Tech, and Hunter would be facing more action next year. In addition to that, it featured a particular character wearing a familiar helmet that had previously appeared in The Mandalorian Season 2. So are we really going to see Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand in the new Disney+ show?

Not surprisingly, Ming-Na Wen has confirmed that the teaser's mysterious character for The Bad Batch is none other than Fennec Shand. The star of The Mandalorian Season 2 recently spoke to StarWars.com where she opened up about Fennec's return in the new season. In addition to that, she admitted that Dave Filoni had asked her not to talk about Fennec's appearance in the Clone Wars spin-off, but Wen refused, sharing what she had said to the executive producer.

"'Dave, if you wanted to keep it a secret, you shouldn't have put me in the trailer!'" Wen said with a laugh. The Agents of SHIELD star then pointed out that fans have been hoping she would confirm her appearance in The Bad Batch.

"Everybody is saying they just want the confirmation. So, yes, it is Fennec! It's a younger Fennec, and she is voiced by me, and I'm thrilled and beyond happy that Dave wanted to create more of a backstory for her," Wen said.

The Bad Batch has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on Disney+ next year. The final episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 is now available on the streaming service.
