Prince William knew all too well that his growing friendship with “Cruel Summer” singer would set off the snubbed Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and palace spies say that unwitting Taylor Swift is caught in the middle of a royal civil war, a new report claimed.
Prince William, who is 42 years old, was beaming backstage in London as Taylor and her football player boyfriend, Travis Kelce, took pictures with the future king and his two oldest children, Prince George, who is 10 years old, and Princess Charlotte, who is 9 years old. Even more impressively, the songbird known for "Shake It Off" posted a selfie on the internet and wished the heir apparent a happy birthday.
The royal family is keeping a close eye on Taylor. Princess Charlotte and Prince George are not the only ones who have feelings for her. An unnamed source divulged to RadarOnline that "the word is that she is going to be at the top of their list for any upcoming galas or events that involve celebrities. Everyone is raving about her and how talented and charming she is.
Meghan and Prince Harry are said to be seething over Tay-Tay's tête-à-tête with the heir to the throne because the "Bad Blood" hitmaker has refused to give them the time of day. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were able to attend Taylor Swift's "Eras" Tour in August 2023 in California, where they had relocated after leaving the palace lifestyle.
On the other hand, Meghan and Prince Harry were not given the opportunity to meet the Grammy winner behind the scenes or to sit with her entourage in the VIP zone, as per Daily Mail. And even before that, Taylor, who is 34 years old, made the decision to decline an offer from the former “Suits” actress, who is 42 years old, to participate on her podcast in the role of “Archetypes.”
“It’s no secret Meghan went out of her way to try to build a relationship with Taylor and got nowhere, so it’s hard for her and Harry not to see this as being a calculated way for William and the royals to undermine them further. In their view it’s patently obvious the royals — and William in particular — love to go after anything they come close to having,” the informant stated.
It goes without saying that this was not the first time Prince William had come into contact with the stunning billionaire. More than a decade ago, the Prince of Wales gave a performance alongside Taylor Swift, during which they joined Jon Bon Jovi for a rendition of the rocker's classic song "Livin' on a Prayer," which was released in 1986.
"Meghan and Harry love Taylor's music. They've made it very clear they would love some sort of relationship with her. But now that William's made another big public connection with Taylor, any moves they make are bound to get labeled as cheap copycat attempts,” the tipster said.
While the mole emphasized that Meghan and Prince Harry did not feel any resentment toward the prince for bringing his children to the concert, he explained that "it's the selfie that's set them off because it's just so out of the ordinary for the royals to publicize something like that. Even William's own fans have branded it as shade towards the Sussexes."
"Once again, they're feeling like the outsiders — and it hurts,” the snitch went on.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to comment on the claims that they were not pleased to see a photo of Taylor Swift together with Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. So, avid followers of the royal family should take all these unverified reports with a pinch of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
