In a video that was released on September 9, Prince William and Princess Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, can be seen playing and cuddling with their three children, Prince George, who is 11 years old, Princess Charlotte, who is 9 years old, and Prince Louis, who is 6 years old. The film was taken in the countryside close to their house in Norfolk, England, and even includes some very non-royal public displays of affection.
The video, which is intended to reveal that Princess Kate has finished treatment for her undisclosed cancer, is narrated by Princess Kate, who can be seen wandering alone in golden light while a dreamy soundtrack plays from the background. Princess Kate extends her thoughts to others who are coping with cancer as the three-minute short film comes to a close while watching a butterfly flit from her hand.
"I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand," the 42-year-old said. "Out of darkness can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
It was a step that had never been done before by the future king and queen, who had maintained a low profile ever since they made the announcement that Princess Kate had been diagnosed in March. According to a person who spoke with Star Magazine, the private film appears to be an indication of how Prince Kate's illness has altered her and how she perceives her position in the future.
"This has been a life-altering experience that's not only brought her face-to-face with her own mortality but it's given her a new sense of spirituality and taught her to appreciate the smaller things more, like nature, her children's laughter, quiet moments with William. It could have turned out so very differently. But Kate's counting her blessings and appreciating every day with a little more clarity," the unnamed source told Star Magazine.
While the royal family was away on vacation during the summer, the video was shot by the filmmaker Will Warr in the month of August. "This one was particularly poignant," he stated, adding that it was an "honor" to be able to make.
According to the insider, Princess Kate had that intended aim. In addition to providing an update on her health, the princess, who was always aware of the necessity of modernizing the monarchy, had a distinct plan for the photo session.
"Kate wanted her message to be simple yet cinematic in scale, and show her and her family having fun, playing games, enjoying a picnic and embracing. Making the video was very much Kate's idea, and she was in control, but also wanted it to come across as natural and without too much direction," undisclosed informant.
In spite of the fact that some royal watchers were taken aback by the clip, which they compared to advertising, the Windsors have always been required to demonstrate their value to the people they serve. A tipster close to the situation claimed that Princess Kate made a reference to her late grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, while she was storyboarding the movie.
"It recalls the home movies of Prince Philip and the late Queen when they were young," the mole stated.
The video features a joyful scene of the young family enjoying a card game with Kate Middleton's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton. It is interesting to note that no one from William's side of the family appears in the video. This includes his father, King Charles III, who is also battling cancer.
“This was Kate and William's story. It wouldn't have been appropriate to include King Charles," the tattler claied.
