Those who are close to the whole "Friends" cast and crew are expressing their worry for Matt LeBlanc as the one-year anniversary of Matthew Perry's passing draws near.
Matt, who had been somewhat of a recluse since Matthew's passing in October of last year, was hardly recognizable when he recently went out in Van Nuys, California, with his daughter Marina, who is twenty years old, New Idea Magazine reported.
Onlookers couldn't help but give a double take when they saw Matt, 57, looking for a new car. This was a far cry from the always put-together red-carpet looks that his fans are accustomed to seeing him in.
"What's concerning, for all the Central Perk crew, is that [Matt's] such a recluse these days and they barely hear from him from one month to the next," an insider told In Touch Weekly.
"He's just hunkered down and doing his own thing without any real interest in socialising."
Despite the fact that his close-knit "Friends" cast members have all made several attempts to get in touch with him, it seems as though their calls are being ignored.
"Jen [Aniston], Courteney [Cox], Lisa [Kudrow] and David [Schwimmer) all want to get him back in the fold and get him smiling again," the insider says.
"He used to be such an upbeat, happy guy, but now it's as though he doesn't feel worthy to be in their company somehow.”
"The recent tragedy has taught them all how short and precious life truly is."
As the anniversary of Matthew's passing draws near, this comes as a surprise.
On October 28, 2023, the star who had been nominated for an Emmy passed away at the age of 54.
As a means of alleviating his anxiety and depression, the actor decided to undergo the controversial ketamine therapy. This decision ultimately sealed his fate. After only a few short weeks of beginning the habit, he got hopelessly addicted to it, and he passed away as a result of an overdose.
Matt was the first member of the “Friends” cast to post an individual tribute commemorating his costar, Matthew, after the latter was discovered unresponsive at his home in Los Angeles, The New York Post reported.
“Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life,” he wrote on November 14, 2023, with a series of images from their scenes on the show.
“It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend,” he penned. “I will always smile when I think of you, and I'll never forget you. Never.”
LeBlanc wrote, “Spread your wings and fly brother you're finally free. Much love.”
His tribute came to a close with one final joke that he and his close friend shared. “And I guess you're keeping the 20 bucks you owe me," he said.
