The OnePlus 6T is a device that most are eager to get their hands on and the device will soon become the first device offered by US network, T-Mobile. Better yet, it will reportedly become the first handset ever to support the Verizon network although it does not follow that the said company will be actually offering the mobile phone.
The fact that it is compatible throughout Verizon's network means more people can consider using it over other brands. However, it should be noted that the OnePlus 6T is an LTE-only device, meaning it cannot be used on 2G or 3G systems, GSM Arena said. Looking at the majority of users nowadays, this is seen as a minor issue considering LTE coverage exceeds the old CDMA coverage.
Known to offer unlocked phones, OnePlus now stands to broaden its use. Previously, it was limited to T-Mobile and AT&T since they only work on GSM. With a wider reach, the much-coveted phone may now be seen as a top choice for smartphone buyers since it does offer more than reasonable specs.
The OnePlus 6T is expected to be launched on Oct. 30 at a community event, Forbes said. Interested folks can attend the event by purchasing tickets at the OnePlus official website. Prices start at $20 a pop for early-bird registrants after which the prices are bumped up to $30.
So what makes the OnePlus 6T so special? The upcoming device is set to introduce a number of innovative features. At the top of the list is the in-display fingerprint reader, a biometric security add-on that most phones have been integrating to date. The headphone jack has been taken out while the notch size has now been reduced.
The device is expected to sport a 6.4-inch AMOLED display, (2340x1080 pixels) and possibly backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with an 8 GB RAM compliment, 9 to 5 Google said. There will be three storage options available: 64, 128 and 256 GB ROM. If previous models are to be the basis, the OnePlus 6T is unlikely to have provisions for expandable storage.
There is no official word as well on the built-in cameras of the upcoming device. In a previous post, it was mentioned that the OnePlus 6T could come with a triple-camera setup similar to the Huawei P20 Pro. There are even suggestions that the camera could include a pop-up selfie, something the Vivo Nex sports, The Inquirer said. It is expected to come out with Android 9.0 Pie installed.
So far, these are the roundup information tied up to the OnePlus 6T. The official specs should finally kill the suspense come Oct. 30.
