Samsung is set to release its Galaxy S10 family early next year, and there have been rumors that one of the three different models will support 5G network although the tech giant has yet to comment on this. Now, the company is expected to demo a proof-of-concept 5G handset at Qualcomm's developer summit this week, according to its press release.

Wccftech reported that Samsung will be joining forces with Verizon Wireless to present the smartphone, which will use Qualcomm's forthcoming Snapdragon platform that includes the X50 modem, the company's first 5G modem. The technology was reportedly manufactured on the 10nm processor, and this urged people to believe that this will be the Galaxy S10 flagship device that Samsung will launch a few months from now.

However, it is worth noting that Samsung's mobile head DJ Koh previously said that the Galaxy S10 will not be the South Korean tech giant's first 5G handset in the face of many rumors that one high-end model will support the 5G network. Other than that, a previous report from The Wall Street Journal suggested that Samsung has another project under the hood, which is supposedly a smartphone device with top-of-the-line specifications.

According to the report, Samsung is preparing a monster device with a 6.7-inch screen display, with 6 cameras, and a support to the 5G network. While this may not be referring to the Galaxy S10 family, there is a huge possibility that the company keeps every detail of its flagship phones until everything is up for the big day.

Samsung's partnership with Verizon for 5G smartphones will be reportedly deployed to the United States in the first half of 2019. The Galaxy S10 portfolio will feature the Infinity-O screen display of which the company digs a tiny hole at the top corner of the display to give way to the front-facing camera instead of slicing a bigger part of the display like many other companies did.

The Galaxy S10 range will also feature 5 cameras - two in the front, and 3 on the rear, but the other reported major project that Samsung has in the pipeline is said to cater 6 camera lenses. Insiders also told the WSJ that the cameras "promise richer photos and better spatial perception."

The report also suggested that the smartphone will be launched after the Galaxy S10 family is released in early 2019. There is still no reason for everyone to believe that this could be the Galaxy S10, but the company reportedly pledged that they can pull off this handset as they have all the advanced technology to produce a monster device with top-of-the-line features.
