In an article published by The Leaker, Rockstar Games lead writer Dan Houser said in an interview with The Guardian that the idea of GTA 6 in London is "pretty appealing". If ever this happened, this could be the first time the franchise is set in a world inspired by a non-US place.
However, Houser said that GTA 6 in London does not really work entirely. He added that it would have been greater if the game was already set in London back then even though the options were limited.
Still, the possibility of GTA 6 in London is not yet closed. Houser said it would be great and plausible if there are stories and mission that would showcase the environment of the UK.
Houser said in his opinion, GTA 6 could be more appropriate in modeling after the US since it should serve as an ironic mirror to the country. Moreover, this is one of the factors why the franchise gathered so many fans and critical acclaim.
If not London, what could be the setting of GTA 6? Houser said that the franchise might likely to stick around to a familiar client inspired by the perennial places like Florida, New York, and California.
To be specific, Houser said that the setting of Los Angeles could still be an ideal choice for GTA 6. Besides Los Angeles, Miami is also another option for them.
Fans of the franchise might have to wait a little bit longer for the release of GTA 6. According to an article published by Miami Morning Star, Rockstar Games posted a lot of job openings for programmers recently.
What could that mean? The job listings did not indicate that they are looking for programmers who will work in developing GTA 6 but they told their job is in line in creating a "next-gen" game".
Moreover, Rockstar Games is reported to be focusing on the commercially and critically hit Red Dead Redemption 2. That could mean the development of GTA 6 is put aside so that the gaming company can give more updates about Western-style game.
Since the development of GTA 6 is not the priority, maybe the fans can still play GTA 5. After all, the game still offers some fresh excitement and enthusiasm, especially to diehard fans.
