The Nintendo Mini Switch is easily one of the most talked about console presently, this is despite the fact that not even a single photo of the alleged console has been released. The dark cloud hovering around the console may finally disappear as recent leak revealed a supposed render of the upcoming console.
The leak came via Chinese gaming accessory manufacturer HonSon. The company is widely known for its extensive list of gaming accessories that are available not only for the Nintendo Switch but also for other consoles and other gaming platforms. HonSon recently listed a number of accessories that are specifically designed for the Nintendo Switch Mini. While some of these photos appear to be old mock-ups of the console, there is a couple of renders that may have inadvertently revealed the Switch Mini's size and dimensions.
Nintendo has consistently denied the rumors about its follow-up to the highly successful Switch console. However, an article from The Wall Street Journal claimed that the Japanese company is already on the last phase of preparation for the official unveiling of the Mini. The article also stated that Nintendo is planning to unveil not only one but two versions of the Switch. One is an upgraded version of the original model and the Mini which is a smaller and less expensive model.
HonSon's listing includes 11 different accessories. The list includes bags, screen protector, hand shells, and carry cases. One product description even read "professional design to perfect fit Nintendo Switch mini." Some of these product listings were also shared on the company's Facebook page.
It is a common practice for some hardware manufacturers to send the official dimensions of their products to third-party manufacturers, like HonSon, prior to the official launch. This is to make sure that once the hardware hits the market, there are available accessories for customers to choose. However, there are occasions when these dimensions and renders are sometimes leaked to the public.
Despite the absence of the actual Switch Mini device, product listings of its accessories are already available in Chines e-commerce platform Alibaba. While all of these products are still listed as "out of stock," HonSon said that the products would be available starting next week. Some of the products even have customized packaging and the option to incorporate a logo.
Whether these leaked products hold any merit, it is sufficient enough to drive attention and hype to the Switch Mini.
