Game developer The Coalition announced today that their upcoming third-person shooter video game "Gears 5" will be open for tech test starting July 19. Along with the announcement, the game developer also revealed the details of the upcoming game. This includes the system requirements, accessibility, and some juicy specifics about the versus multiplayer title.
Tech Test Details
"Gears 5" technical test scheduled on Xbox One requires Xbox Live Gold and will be available for download starting July 17. That is according to Dana Sissons, the studio's director of communications. The online play will start 6 pm in the UK from July 19 until July 21. For those who missed the first tech test online play, there is another scheduled test on from July 26 until July 29.
During the online technical test, "Gears 5" players will be able to experience the new competitive game type called Escalation. The popular King of the Hill will also be there and a new training mode dubbed as Bootcamp. This new training mode will allow players to learn and practice new game mechanics.
To make the experience more worthwhile, players at the technical test will be able to enjoy the Tour of Duty. This is a set of challenges that open new in-game add-ons like banners and skins. Dana Sissons, however, warns players that the technical test is intended to test the servers of the game, so there might be some sort of queuing that they may experience.
"Gears 5" director of communications also said that The Coalition is looking forward to making the versus third-shooter multiplayer game a worthwhile online experience during its launch for all players and also to those who are members of the Xbox Game Pass and the studio hopes that the upcoming tech test will help them achieve it.
PC System Requirements
The game developer also shared the initial PC system requirements for "Gears 5." These are for the impending PC technical tests. For the minimum requirements, the operating system must be at least Windows 10 with most recent update dated May 10.
The processor must be at least Intel i3 Skylake or AMD FX-6000 (minimum) Intel i5 Skylake or AMD Ryzen 3 (recommended) or Intel i7 Skylake or AMD Ryzen 7 (ideal). The memory must be at least 6GB random access memory (minimum) 8 GB (recommended) 16 GB (ideal).

In terms of graphics, players who hope to try the "Gears 5" tech test must have AMD Radeon R9 280/RX 560 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760/GTX 1050 (minimum) AMD Radeon RX 570/RX 5700 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 970/1660 Ti (recommended) AMD Radeon VII or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 (ideal) GPU. and free storage space of at least 15 GB.
