It looks like Barry Allen will have to face a villain that isn't another speedster. The first trailer for The Flash Season 6 puts the focus on the new baddie who appears to be satisfied with simply standing still. However, that doesn't mean that Ramsey Rosso is any less dangerous than the other bad guys that Barry has previously encountered. So who is Bloodwork and how will he prove to be a dangerous threat to Team Flash?
The trailer for The Flash Season 6 debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con and it introduces Dr. Ramsey Rosso, a doctor who has dedicated his life to "helping others fight the diseases that plague humanity" in the past decade. It certainly sounds like a noble cause but Rosso is quick to reveal that he believes Team Flash is the true enemy. He states that "there are many cancers in this world and they all wear different faces," and that some of them are the members of Team Flash. Needless to say, Rosso claims that those who believe they are heroes are the most dangerous ones so far.
So what could be so bad about a guy who wants to put an end to all deaths? Team Flash would probably point out that his cause is wrong since it would change the natural order of things. However, it looks like the heroes will not be aware of Dr. Ramsey Rosso's true intentions until it's too late. The Flash Season 6 showrunner Eric Wallace revealed that Rosso will become a member of Team Flash before they realize their error.
Eric Wallace confirmed at SDCC 2019 that Dr. Ramsey Rosso is an acquaintance of Dr. Caitlin Snow who ends up joining the team. "Their old reunion goes very very south and when he joins Team Flash he ends up going down the path to mad science and ends up becoming the most terrifying foe that Team Flash has ever faced," the showrunner revealed.
In the comic books, Dr. Ramsey Rosso becomes Bloodwork after injecting himself with metahuman blood. Originally a hemophiliac, he gains the power to control blood. The show is making a small change to the character by making him an oncologist instead of a coroner. Either way, Rosso is someone to look out for in the upcoming season.
The Flash Season 6 will premiere on The CW on October 8.
