Arsenal FC manager Unai Emery recently confirmed that the injury of Alexander Lacazette on his ankle is not serious. The team's forward was removed during the first half of the game against Lyon at the Emirates Cup. Lacazette seemed to roll his ankle while trying to elude a challenge during the 13th minute.

The Arsenal forward needed treatment as he walked away in awkward small steps. He was replaced by Reiss Nelson for the remainder of the game, but it is understood that the switch was just precautionary and the team is confident that the French forward will undergo a speedy recovery from his latest injury. The team began with a promising line-up with Henrikh Mkhitaryan's powerful cross directed home by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, during the second-half, Moussa Dembele propelled the Lyons to victory with his quickfire brace. Although Lacazette was seen limping out of the field wearing a protective boot, the Arsenal manager insisted that the Frenchman's ankle issue was nothing to be overly concerned about. Emery said that the team's doctor informed him that the player would be checked the following day.

Emery added that Lacazette would be assessed and evaluated over the next several days. The manager told Dahbia Hattabi of Foot Mercato that Lacazette merely twisted his ankle and was forced off as a precautionary measure. The French forward is also confident that he is going to return soon to train. During the first half, the manager shared that he is pleased with the team's performance but admitted that the players lost their momentum and focused after the break.

He was quoted saying that the Arsenal FC defended well during the first half, however, in the second half the team switched off. The concentration, according to Emery, was not there as much in the game's second half. Although the team was winning and playing really well it still lost to Lyon and Emery noted that they are going to work and watch so they could improve.

In other Arsenal FC news, the team reportedly is set to bid to ink Daniele Rugani of the Juventus. It appears that Unai emery is still in desperate need of defensive support for the team. Rob Holding is unlikely to return soon given his knee injury, and Laurent Koscielny is still on strike.
