Carmelo Anthony is still a free agent, and it appears that things are looking bleak for the NBA All-star player when it comes to having a team. Melo only played in 10 games before Houston rockets traded him to Chicago Bulls where he was waived. Off-season NBA trainer Chris Brickley recently shared on The Breakfast Club that the veteran player wants to have a farewell tour just like what Dwayne Wade had last NBA season.
On Twitter, Portland Trail Blazers star player Damian Lillard shared his support to Carmelo Anthony and even campaigned that the All-Star player should be given a farewell season. Lillard also said in another tweet that the Portland Trail Blazers has no money but Melo should play. His tweet was answered by fans and some even asked Lillard if he thinks that the team would be fit for Carmelo Anthony.

Lillard responded later that Portland does not have any cap space to sign Carmelo Anthony. Some fans suggested that Damian Lillard would not want the headache of having Melo in his locker room. Lillard's tweet came after Chris Brickley's appearance on The Breakfast Club.

On the show, Brickley shared that he thinks most teams are afraid that Carmelo Anthony would demand to be the star of the team. The popular NBA trainer clarified that it is not going to happen since Carmelo Anthony just wants to have his final season at the league and do what Dwayne Wade did. He wants to have a jersey swap, he was a Hall of Famer and had a great career, and hopefully, those things could happen, Brickley said.
The NBA trainer also believes that Carmelo Anthony is still better than 60 percent of NBA players today. Just by checking Melo's recent stats, he averaged 5.4 rebounds, 13.4 points and shot 32.8 percent from beyond the arc. His last performance in the NBA court was last November 2018 when he played against the Oklahoma City Thunder and just made a couple of points.
After that game, he was removed from the rotation of the team and by January Houston Rockets traded him to Chicago Bulls. With his performance and his age, it is safe to say that his days being a team starter is over, but if he is willing to take other roles in the team, many would take a chance on him in the upcoming NBA 2019-2020 season.
