Manchester United will have to pay Alexis Sanchez £250,000 on a weekly basis if they want to move him on loan to Inter Milan. The Serie A champs said they could not afford his wages of £505,000 per week so United agreed to shoulder half the cost.
The deal should allow a permanent move for Sanchez at the end of the season with United receiving a transfer fee of £14 million.
According to SunSport last week, Sanchez was going to be exiled this season as Solskjaer did not see the 30-year-old fitting in to his exciting new young team. The United boss reportedly isn't a fan of the Chilean player and hasn't been since he took over the club in December last year.
Last week, Solskjaer said that Sanchez needed to do more training and play in more behind closed doors at the Carrington training ground. This should improve his fitness and allow him to keep up with the rest of the squad.
It's understood that Sanchez has long realized that he wasn't up to be United anymore and has wanted to quit to join his friend Romelu Lukaku at Inter Milan. the Belgian footballer moved from United to Inter for £73 last week.
Lukaku has been reportedly telling Sanchez that playing for Inter is a better choice and that Milan is nicer than Manchester. The report also states that Sanchez has been convinced and has already requested for the No. 7 shirt.
Sanchez is scheduled to undergo a medical exam this week, with Inter announcing him as an official player soon, following the arrival of Diego Godin and Lukaku. If this happens, Sanchez will be coached by Antonio Conte, who has been very familiar with the Premier League.
Unfortunately for Sanchez, he has become the most expensive flop in the history of United since he joined the club last year. Since his move from Arsenal, he has cost United £41million in wages which works out at £8.2million for each of his five goals that he has contributed
However, Solskjaer is claiming that Sanchez still wants to stay at United, who missed pre-season because of his commitments to Copa America.
"Alexis is such a professional and he comes in working every single day really hard," Solskjaer said. "And he wants to be a part of this and it's these stories he's again that he's been put in the reserves, of course he hasn't. He's a part of our squad and a very, very good player."
