English Premier League club Liverpool is throwing its hat into the competition to sign rising star Kai Havertz. Liverpool will be battling prominent clubs including Manchester United, Barcelona, and Real Madrid for Havertz.

Havertz is the rising star from German club Bayer Leverkusen. He is playing as a midfielder, and he is known for his playmaking skills. The 20-year-old has been playing for Bayer for a couple of seasons and has shown great potential. During his last season with Bayer, he was able to score 20 goals and helped seven assists in 42 matches across all competitions and leagues. As for the current season, he has already scored two goals in two games.

According to Sport1, a German TV station, Liverpool is just one of the eight major European clubs that are currently setting a transfer target for Havertz. The German international has garnered a lot of attention from premier clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and rivals Manchester United and Manchester City. Rival Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona are also on the hunt. Bayern Munich is reportedly working on its own transfer package for Havertz. Bayern is known in the continent as a prominent club that always pursues great talents.

There are a number of reports claiming that Havertz might decide and stay with his current club. However, there is a significant amount of rumor claiming that he might decide to sign with another club, provided that this club will meet his demands.

On the other hand, Bayer appears to be keen on keeping Havertz in the club. Evidence to this is the fact that the club's top boss Rudi Voller has not opened a discussion with any interested club. It would appear that Bayer wants to keep Havertz no matter the cost.

Havertz is still under contract with Bayer until 2022. Should Bayer decide to sell Havertz, the club is expected to raise at least €100 million. That is a serious amount of money that the club can use in order to acquire multiple talents, instead of holding on to a rising star with potential.

Liverpool has yet to publicize its package for Havertz. Nevertheless, many football experts have noted that with such a steep competition vying for the talent of the German prodigy, Liverpool will no doubt put together an impressive package if they are bent into signing him. Monetary wise Liverpool does not have massive resources. Nevertheless, it has a pool of great talents that it can trade if it wishes to pursue Havertz.
