Rockstar Games' "Red Dead Redemption" is available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Its sequel, "Red Dead Redemption 2" was officially released in 2018 and available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There is a wide array of speculations surrounding the PC release of "Red Dead Redemption 2." One leak was spotted in a LinkedIn profile or spread through unfounded rumors and shared on various social media outlets and sites. Despite these, Rockstar Games continue to be mum about this and is yet to announce any official release of the sequel on the PC platform.
Last month, a shred of new evidence, which is far more credible than other leaks surfaced online. The leak was a source code mined from Rockstar Games Social Club which is needed when you want to play different games published by Rockstar online. It is a popular PC marketplace and works autonomously on Steam.
The leaked source code suggests references to achievements "for Red Dead Redemption 2" on PC. The leak was shared by a Tweeter user who claims to have a link to the source file. Another speculation also claims that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is releasing on PC through Google Stadia. The announcement was anticipated to be held during the Stadia Connect event in the first week of August. However, during the event, several game publishers and developers chose not to announce anything, and Rockstar Games is one of them.
