Several reports surfaced online claiming that Barcelona is confident about Neymar's transfer before the September 2 deadline. But, according to Barca director Javier Bordas, there is no agreement to sign the Brazilian footballer yet. However, he sounds confident and shares that the transfer is closer.
On Tuesday a delegation consists of Barcelona directors flew to Paris for what appears to be the final negotiations in its attempt to acquire Neymar from Paris Saint Germain. Video recording from Catalan TV station TV3 revealed Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal, Director Javier Bordas, Brazilian scout Andre Cury, and CEO Oscar Grau at the airport for a flight to Paris.
Goal reports that Barcelona is confident that they could bring Neymar back to the team following talks with Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday. The report states that Barca CEO Oscar Grau offered the League 1 champion €160 million or approximately £144 million with additions for the superstar. However, Paris Saint Germain wants Barca defender Nelson Semedo as part of the deal plus €100 million.
Earlier reports claim that the Spanish champion is reluctant to let any of their team members leave Catalonia. Neymar left Barcelona for Les Parisiens for a staggering amount of £222 million during the transfer window in the summer of 2017. In another report, Barcelona director Jordi Bordas was quoted saying that there is still no agreement to sign the Brazilian superstar.
However, Bordas claims that the transfer is closer, adding that they are negotiating and cannot say anything more. The Spanish League 1 champion has until Monday, September 2, to finalize the deal for Neymar. Paris Saint Germain already turned down a couple of proposals from Barcelona.
This includes a loan deal with a transfer to be made permanent last summer and a play plus cash offer. The final attempt of Barca is a straight money proposal for €170 million. But, it is not yet clear if the money will be given outright or paid on a staggered basis.
Neymar transfer to Paris Saint Germain a couple of years ago but it seems that the Brazilian attacker would soon line up once again with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi to do the attacking trident. Previous speculations are surrounding Neymar's transfer to PSG claim that Neymar wanted to get away from the shadow of Lionel Messi. However, his two years stay in PSG was not fruitful and did not bring in success in the UEFA Champions League to the Parc des Princes.
