Moussa Sissoko, Ousmane Dembele's agent, has denied claims that the player could leave Barcelona this summer, putting an end to reports that the French player is keen on leaving Spain in favor of Paris Saint-Germain.
Dembele is only one of the players rumored to leave this transfer window, with his future being questioned due to disciplinary and fitness issues. The 22-year-old moved to Barca two years ago from Borussia Dortmund in a £112 million deal.
There have been reports suggesting that Dembele could be offloaded to make way for Neymar, as the Spanish club have been looking to get Neymar back at La Blaugrana. The deal being talked about involves the forward heading to PSG together with Nelson Semedo plus €100 million. However, Sissoko made it clear that Dembele will stay in Catalonia and fighting for his place in the side.
"Ousmane stays at Barcelona, 100%. No chance he leaves. He wants to and will succeed at Barcelona," Sissoko told TF1, via GFFN.
Neymar's future is still the talk of the town as Barcelona continues to show interest in signing the Brazilian. There is an implication that Dembele would be set for another season at the Camp Nou, although his agent has insisted that his client has no interest in leaving the club.
Dembele found himself in the middle of controversy after it was found that he traveled to visit his family despite being injured. This information was reportedly withheld from Ernesto Valverde's side, prompting problems with his employers. It's expected that he will remain sidelined for several weeks, having pulled up in his only La Liga outing so far this season.
Due to sustained injuries, Dembele had been limited to appear only 66 times for Barca, which in total scored him 18 goals in all matches.
Barcelona sporting director Javier Bordas reportedly traveled to Paris on Tuesday to talk to PSG regarding a possible transfer. Upon his return in Barcelona, Bordas said that the deal was "closer" to being done.
Dembele arrived at Barca in 2017 from Dortmund, with fans hoping he would help a lot in a time where Neymar left the club. At the time, he was considered one of the best prospects in European football.
It seems as though Dembele is in a tight spot with Barca's continued pursuit of Neymar, as it implies that Camp Nou has lost interest in him. Sissoko is convinced he won't be leaving the Spanish champions, but as reports go, it's probably time for him to look at other prospects other than Barca.
