Gary Neville says he is "delighted" Romelu Lukaku has left Manchester United - and encouraged the club to sell more players.
The latest between the war of words between Neville and Lukaku had the United legend reveal he wants more will follow the Belgian out of the club. He revealed his thoughts on Twitter when asked by a fan, heating up the row that he already had with Lukaku. Previously, he called Lukaku "unprofessional" and "overweight."
On Twitter, Neville told a fan he's "delighted he's [Lukaku] left."
I'm hearing you. I'm delighted he's left . I won't be happy till everyone single one of them that think they are better and bigger than the club and don't want to be here are gone ! Nothing at all about his nationality or him not being a good player .He will always score goals . https://t.co/Ro11KH15oX — Gary Neville (@GNev2) September 1, 2019
"I won't be happy til every, single one of them that think they are better and bigger than the club and don't want to be here are gone," Neville wrote. "Nothing at all about his nationality or him not being a good player. He will always score goals."
It's his latest comment in a long-running war of words between him and Lukaku. He once again ignited the tirade when he called out the Belgian player's commitment and fitness, saying that Lukaku has previously admitted to being overweight at over 100 kg despite being a player for Man Utd. He then added that though he will continue to score goals at Inter Milan, Lukaku's unprofessionalism will always be there.
But Lukaku won't have Neville's words sway him. He hit back, saying that no one should ever question his professionalism and that he's all about improvement. The former United player also said that he would do his best for his new club.
Lukaku isn't the only player Neville criticized recently. He also targeted Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno, and the club's entire back-line, for their performance against Tottenham in the north London derby on Sunday.
Tottenham took a two-goal lead at the Emirates, with Leno palming a tame shot into the path of Christian Eriksen for the opening goal before a rash challenge from Granit Xhaka gave Harry Kane the chance to double the lead from the spot.
Lukaku has started well at Inter and netted a goal on his debut for the club last week.
United fans will continue to question the sale of Lukaku for £73.7million on deadline day - and the lack of a replacement - so long as the club's struggles continue. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side drew 1-1 with Southampton on Saturday to leave them with just five points from four games.
