Apple's fresh new iOS 13 came with bugs, which is quite expected, but the situation is getting worse for mobile gamers. Fans of battle royale games like PUBG and Fortnite have not been able to play their games properly and are now calling for the Cupertino giant to release a patch as soon as possible.
Apple is now panicking to release iOS 13.1 and will do so a week before the scheduled rollout.
PUBG, Fortnite, and several other games and apps use multiple, simultaneous touch inputs to control in-game characters. With the release of iOS 13, users can now perform a three-finger press-and-hold gesture to allow for more granular text editing options.
However, players of PUBG Mobile and Fortnite who have already installed iOS 13 are now complaining that their games are being disrupted by this new feature. Both games require most players to keep two fingers on the screen to move the character and maneuver the camera, while a third finger is placed across the screen to perform other functions and aim down sights. Gamers call this the "claw grip."
Doing the claw grip in an iPhone running on iOS 13 will prompt the new text editing bar to appear instead. And in battle royale games, players most often have only one life per round, and nobody wants a text menu popping up while in the heat of a battle.

PUBG Mobile developer Tenced has already acknowledged the bug and advised its users to not update their devices. The developer's notice inside its mobile version states:
"We have already raised the issue with Apple, and we will continue working with them to resolve the issue. We suggest players who play the game with 3 or more fingers do not upgrade to iOS 13.0 until this issue is resolved."
Meanwhile, Fornite creator Epic Games address the issue on Reddit. One of its community coordinators told players that the bug "should be fixed with the release of iOS 13.1."
It's not a great start for iOS 13, but at least Apple is hurrying up the release of version 13.1. For now, PUBG and Fortnite players still on iOS 12 tempted to do the update, it's best to put your plans on hold.
