Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident that United's striker Marcus Rashford will recover from his groin injury before the international break at the beginning of the month. The English forward was forced off in last Saturday's match against West Ham. Right after the game, the Norwegian coach confirmed that Rashford got a groin strain and will undergo a scan to get an assessment of the degree of the injury.

Last Saturday, Marcus Rashford suffered a groin injury. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer shared that the 21 years old forward will be back in action sooner than expected. The worst was dreaded for the English footballer after he limped off the London Stadium. Apparently, Marcus Rashford could come back for the trip to Newcastle in the early part of October.

Marcus Rashford will miss the crunch Premier League tie with the Gunners come Monday night but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was positive that the young footballer can work his way back to fitness before the international break. The Norwegian coach said that Rashford is recovering and he is hoping that he could join the squad at the international break. Angel Gomes and Diogo Dalot were absent during the match against Rochdale and are most likely going to miss the league meeting with the Gunners next week. Manchester United has three lined up games before the international break after their midweek game with Rochdale. On Monday, they will take on Arsenal in the Premier League before going to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday. The Red Devils will then go back to Premier League on October 6 against Newcastle.

The departure of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku has left Manchester United short of firepower and Marcus Rashford's injury compounded the problem. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave a positive assessment on the fitness of Paul Pogba after he was cleared to play against Rochdale following his three-game rest due to ankle injury. Pogba will be back in the action on Wednesday.

 

According to Solskjaer, Pogba had a two days training, and he must be in a game for further recovery. The Norwegian coach is also hopeful that the Frenchman will be ready for the Gunners on Monday.
