The Cupertino tech giant Apple rolls out today the beta versions of iPadOS 13.4 and iOS 13.4. Apple does not say when the update would be available to iPhone and iPad users. Rumors have it that both updates would roll out on Mar. 9, 2020.

iPadOS 13.4 and iOS 13.4 New Features

Based on the release notes shared by Apple, the beta builds of iPadOS 13.4, and iOS 13.4 would introduce several new features. It includes an update Mail App that comes with a new toolbar with four functions. With the new updates, the Delete button is moved to the left corner while the Reply button is now on the right corner.

iPadOS 13.4 and iOS 13.4 also introduces iCloud Folder sharing. When the updates officially go live, users would be able to send the entire iCloud Folder. Additionally, iPhone and iPad users could send iCloud folder invitations from the device's Files app.

Aside from those, Apple introduced an option to allow the devices to listen to Hey Siri even if they are faced down or covered. iPadOS and iOS 13.4 also offer a new system animation whenever the user toggles an active VPN connection off. Moreover, there are hints that a new CarKey feature would be introduced.

Other Features

Based on a recent discovery, the upcoming updates allows users to turn their iPhones into a car key with the help of the NFC chips. The Cupertino company would likely offer this API to carmakers for them to integrate this feature on their vehicles. In addition, the new CarKey feature on iOS 13.4 would allow family members to share the car keys on their iPhone through the Wallet app.

Another feature that the iOS 13.4 would introduce to users is the new splash screen on CarPlay. Users could see this during the first time that they share it with someone through over the air update. Several improvements are also coming to the status bar.

With the upcoming update, the user would be able to see the status bar while they are on the Control center without the notched display. It is not yet clear, however, if this is a feature intentionally made by Apple or if this is a bug. iPadOS 13.4, meanwhile, would allow users to remap the hardware keys of the physical keyboard connected to the iPad.

It is worth noting that both iPadOS 13.4 and iOS 13.4 are still on their beta stage. It means it is only available to developers at this point.
