Google Pixel 4a has been the subject of many leaks and rumors for some time. The handset was earlier anticipated to launch at Google I/O 2020 and at the Android 11 Beta event, but it did not happen. While there is no official release date for the Google Pixel 4A, a new report suggests that it could go official this month because of these certifications.
More Google Pixel 4A Certifications
More pieces of evidence that Google Pixel 4A is nearing its launch surfaced online. The handset was spotted at the FCC and recently added several prerequisites in its journey to its release. Google Pixel 4A was spotted at BIS and IMDA.
Singapore's IMDA certification, as well as, India's BIS certification does not actually reveal much about the specs of Google Pixel 4A. Interestingly, the presence of NFC and the phone's model number G025N suggest that it supports Google Pay. The India certification could mean that the device would be launched in the country, but it is not confirmed yet.
These certifications do not reveal share details that the industry does not know about Google Pixel 4A. The upcoming handset from the search engine giant will feature 4G support, WiFi a/b/g/n, NFC, and Bluetooth. It also highlights that it will not feature 5G support.
Google Pixel 4A Will Not Feature 5G Support
PhoneArena reports that certifications reveal that the upcoming device will not feature 5G support. The site explains that a code parsing on Google camera app version 7.3 discovered references to redfin, sunfish, and bramble. The publication claims that these names refer to upcoming Google Pixel models.
Sunfish is the Google Pixel 4A with Snapdragon 730 chipset or sm7150, the report reveals. Meanwhile, mid-range smartphones' bramble and redfin would be based on sm7250 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 with a built-in 5G modem. It appears that the two mid-range models are Google Pixel 5 that would feature 5G support, while the Google Pixel 4A will not. This discovery is seemingly confirmed in the IMDA listing of the device.
Other Google Pixel 4A Details
Google Pixel 4A reportedly would feature a 5.8-inch FHD+OLED display. It will house Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset, NFC, and LTE connectivity. Additionally, the upcoming handset is anticipated to have 6GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory.
Apart from these, Google Pixel 4A is expected to feature a 12MP main camera and an 8MP front camera. The handset is expected to launch on Jul 13, 2020, and might retail between $349 and $399.
