After boasting about his "sophisticated" vocabulary during a campaign stop in Detroit, Michigan, Donald Trump was subjected to various forms of internet ridicule.
"These people are just so destructive, so— I always look for good words, highly sophisticated, and I'm highly educated. I like sophisticated words. There's only one word I get — that's stupid. Stupid people,” Donald told the crowd on Monday, August 26, OK! Magazine reported.
A video clip from the account known as Republicans Against Trump was shared on X, which was accompanied by the caption, "The man who doesn't know the difference between 'poll' and 'pole' says what?"
The comments section was instantly filled with MAGA detractors who poked fun at Donald's statement, pointing out the numerous word errors that he has made throughout his campaign for the 2024 election.
"He is still looking for sophisticated words. He hasn’t seemed to find any yet," one X user joked. "He was the best speller ever-greatest speller in his class. I mean all his teachers know this,” a second netizen quipped.
"Did you see his rant last night on Truth Social about ABC and the debate? He couldn’t even figure out when to use a question mark and a period in a sentence. Yet he thinks he’s a smart guy,” a third user commented. Another X user labeled Donald as the United States "biggest national embarrassment since Watergate."
"Trump’s total vocabulary is about 750 words. If that. On the extremely rare occasions where they include a 4-syllable word in a rally speech (the writers know their audience well) he struggles to read it or pronounce it correctly,” political pundit Ron Filipkowski claimed in his own post.
As was previously reported by OK! Magazine, the cognitive state of the 78-year-old businessman-politician was brought into question after he struggled to pronounce the word "regulatory" during a campaign event that took place in August.
In addition, Donald is notorious for going on rants on Truth Social that are riddled with typos and in which he routinely criticizes his opposition in the political arena. In one of these posts, which was published on Sunday, August 25, Donald even made a suggestion that he might not show up to the upcoming presidential debate that will be broadcast by ABC News on September 10.
"Why would I do the Debate against Kamala Harris on that network? Will panelist Donna Brazil give the questions to the Marxist Candidate like she did for Crooked Hillary Clinton? Will Kamala’s best friend, who heads up ABC, do likewise. Where is Liddle’ George Slopadopolus hanging out now? Will he be involved. They’ve got a lot of questions to answer!!!" Donald penned.
