Capcom is rejoicing as its Resident Evil 2 Remake for PS4, Xbox One, and PC is a huge hit because its iconic game hit 3 million copies shipped worldwide in its first week.

Capcom is proud to announce that the entire Resident Evil franchise reached 88 million units shipped since the series introduced back in 1996. The video game developer boasts its sales performance update for Resident Evil 7, confirming that it has reached 6 million copies shipped, GameSpot reported.

Just recently, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil 2 remake will be getting free DLC soon. Today, Jan. 29, the game franchise's official Twitter account revealed more details about what fans should expect from the upcoming DLC.

In the Twitter posts, it says that the new DLC is titled Ghost Survivors and will come to Resident Evil 2 as a free update. In the same post, it reveals that the DLC will explore "what if" stories, which means, these are the three chapters: No Time to Mourn, Runaway, and Forgotten Soldier.

The update for Resident Evil 2 is expected to roll out as soon as February 15, GameRant reported. So far, most reviews for Resident Evil 2 are positive.

In a previous report by GameSpot, Resident Evil 2's Ghost Survivors will release across three volumes. In the first volume, players may choose playable characters such as the mayor's daughter Katherine and a USS member named Robert Kendo. The mode includes at least one new enemy type that doesn't appear in the main campaign. The RE 2 remake will also include bonus 4th Survivor and Tofu modes from the original series. In the 4th Survivor, you will play as special agent HUNK, while Tofu lets you explore the zombie-infested city.

Since Resident Evil 2 is showing good performance when it comes to sales, and many gamers are happy with the new update, PC Gamer is one of the publications that give positive feedback to RE2 remake. It described the RE 2 as a "tense, challenging, and beautiful remake of a classic survival horror game." Since RE2 is gaining success. Capcom says Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake is possible if demand is high. Apparently, RE franchise Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi is optimistic for the future of RE3 because of RE2 remake's sales.

There is a report about the skins for both Leon and Claire-it says these skins are currently available for Japanese PS4 owners. However, these skins are expected to roll out free for everyone on March 22. This information came from a user on Resetera. According to the online user, the news came from RE2 launch party in Japan. It is not sure if these skins will be available in the other regions.
