Tesla has already unveiled its Model Y. All eyes were on the electric car company giant, as it is anticipated by fans. On the other hand, Ford has quietly teased the prospect of an electric version of its iconic Mustang "Pony Car."
Ford mentioned in a tweet "Hold your horses." The Tweet was seen around 11:02 p.m. ET. It was just minutes after the schedule of Tesla's webcast unveiling of its newest entry the Model Y which is their battery-electric sport utility vehicle. It is the latest in the electric car company.
The post has featured a blue version of the classic Mustang logo. It has a black background and was a clear reference to a terse announcement that Ford had made 14 months earlier at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Thus, it is said it was working on a project codenamed Mach 1, according to Electrek.
However, Ford declined to comment about the Tweet. But an executive who asked not to be named because the plans are not yet open to the public said that they timed it with the Tesla launch. It was a hint that big things are coming in their own company's electric car program in the coming months.

Thus, it was indeed hinting to have a big plan in the works. The President of the Global Operations, Joe Hinrichs told CNBC that the company is moving quickly toward the production of what is previously described as the "Mustang-inspired" all-electric SUV. It is said to be featured in the showrooms next year. It will be about the same time that Tesla will begin to deliver the first Model Y, battery-powered SUV.
As follows, Ford was one of the first automakers to start electrifying its lineup. With a mix of the hybrids, plug-ins and the all-electric vehicles. In particular, it has been generated relatively modest demands. The critics are pointing to the limited range and designs that sacrificed cargo and passenger space to make room for the batteries.
