"Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" is the upcoming RPG title from Bandai Namco Entertainment that promises to tell the narrative of the fan-favorite Saiyan warrior Son Goku. It will cover his adventures and the saga where he defended the Earth and the rest of the universe from various villains. That is what the game developer revealed during the announcement of the game at the E3 2019 event.
However, it appears that there is more to "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" that we are not aware of just yet. Just recently, Bandai Namco Entertainment shared on their official Twitter account a statement from the creator of the popular series himself, Akira Toriyama. The statement surprisingly revealed more juicy details about the game, including new canon stories that were not yet shown in the anime series or told in the Manga.
Toriyama-san statement started by describing the upcoming game "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" as an action RPG title. He also revealed that the game would include backstories that have never been told in the Manga before. The popular creator also noted that fans would enjoy the immersive game.
Toriyama added that "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" is a fresh new interpretation of the franchise as players re-live the periods when Son Goku found out more about his identity and his Saiyan roots along with his Saiyan name, Kakarot. He also described the battles in the game as unrelenting and becoming fiercer as the player progresses. Akira Toriyama also underlined that the game would have cutting-edge graphics.

During the E3 event, Bandai Namco mentioned about these story-expanding possibilities. It is part of the promise the game developer made about the upcoming action RPG title. This latest revelation is interesting especially to die-hard fans of the franchise since it could mean that some their mind-boggling questions left unanswered by the Manga and the anime could finally have answers through "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot." At present, there are no concrete clues as to how Bandai Namco Entertainment will incorporate these new canon stories into "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot." However, it would be very interesting to know what kind of backstories will be integrated. It would even be more interesting if the team could flesh out backstories of other not so popular characters in the series like Tien or launch.
