A few weeks ago, Google revealed the first image of Google Pixel 4, which confirmed a series of leaks and renders. A new report surfaced recently revealing the specs of the camera of the heavily speculated device including the resolution of its camera along with other fantastic features. The leak originated from the new Google Camera App that paved the way to more interesting discoveries.

After XDA Developers provided us with the revelation that the Pixel 4 dual-camera but, the new report suggests that Google Pixel 4 will have a telephoto lens. They precisely dug into the Super-Res Zoom of Google Camera, where they discovered the internal code dubbed as sabre. Within this part of the code, they discovered several references to the term telephoto. Further, the group discovered a list in the Google Camera app that contains the camera sensors of the device.

The list contains all the sensors present in Google Pixel 3 such as rear-facing, regular front-facing, and wide-angle front-facing. Interestingly, there are a couple of new ones included in the list not found in the previous iteration of the device. These are REAR_TELEPHOTO and FRONT IR.

Speculations claim that these are in reference to the camera specs of the upcoming Google Pixel 4. In another report, 9to5 Google estimates that the telephoto camera of Google Pixel 4 would have a 16 MP sensor. The prediction is based on the error message, which appears to be utilized for debugging the telephoto code.

While many are wondering if the device will have the optical zoom capability to capture images with 2X, 3X, or 5X images, it is not yet known as of the moment. Many Google Pixel 4 fans are also looking forward to the upcoming device to have an enhanced hybrid zoom. Rumors have it that one of the most coveted features of the upcoming flagship device is its camera.

Aside from its interesting camera features, smartphone users are also looking forward to the search engine giant to do something about the design of Google Pixel 4. One of the major downsides of the previous version of the flagship device is its not so impressive design and notch. While the sources of these reports are credible, Google has not yet released any statement related to these claims.

Therefore, just like any other leaks, it is recommended to take this report with a pinch of salt. We can only confirm these details if Google officially agrees to these reports about the much-awaited Google Pixel 4.
