Formerly codenamed as Android Q, Android 10 has commenced on its phased rollout, which means the latest version of Google's mobile OS will be arriving on different devices at a different time. The first day of seeding was set September 3, and this is true for handsets that will take in the new Android flavor in stock form.

These lucky devices, of course, are Google Pixel models and all versions - from the initial release up to the Pixel 3a that was unpacked in May this year - will be bumped up to Android 10. As of writing, these smartphones should be running on the new OS or at least will be upgraded soon.

In a report by Forbes, Google has confirmed that another phone model is getting Android 10 early. That would be the Essential phone that was the brainchild of Android creator Andy Rubin, which should explain why the device is on the priority list.

As for other Android devices, the fair expectation, according to ZDNet, is a touchdown that could happen soon. That might be vague, but to be precise, the waiting time many for smartphone brands that rely on Android to run can extend up to next year.

Even worse, other handsets on the platform are likely unable to get a taste of Android 10, ever.

Among the more fortunate phone brands are OnePlus, Nokia, HTC, Huawei, Sony, and Xiaomi. The OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, and OnePlus 7 Pro have been scheduled to jump to Android 10 before September ends, and if things get rosier for the Chinese brand, even the OnePlus 5 and 5T will get the bump.

Nokia should start absorbing the new mobile OS in the last months of 2019, and this applies to the brand's flagship offerings like the Nokia PureView, Nokia 8.1, and Nokia 7.1. For the cheaper models in the line, the ETA is early next year.

In the case of Huawei, the next Android makeover for the controversial China-based brand will start to happen in November, and this will be for the Mate 10/20 series and the P20/P30 series, as well as the company's premium sub-brands - the Honor and View models.

HTC users will see how Android 10 actually behaves before the end of 2019, and this is true for the following models - HTC U11, HTC U12, and HTC U12 Plus.

Sony is in the same target date as HTC and the chance is high the Xperia XZ2 and XZ3 will rock the new things about Android in time for the 2019 holidays. That's an ETA of December, at the earliest, for the Sony flagship prides.

Xiaomi will possibly flex Android 10 as early as October, and when this happens, the initial recipients would be the K20 Pro, the Mi 9, and the Mi 9T.

Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, LG, and Motorola will be a bit late in the game as these brands will only start joining the Android 10 club in 2020, specifically in the first quarter of next year.
