When Xiaomi released the Pocophone F1 in the middle of 2018, it sure attracted massive attention. This first smartphone from the new sub-brand of Xiaomi was a massive hit not only because it is loaded with impressive and advanced technology but also because it is only retailed at $300. So, it is no surprise for fans to anticipate that the Pocophone F2 will be released next.
We are just a couple of months before this year ends, and so far, we have not yet heard anything from the Xiaomi sub-brand. Pocophone India earlier claimed that the Pocophone sub-brand would not be discontinued, but it did not say anything about the Pocophone F2 or the successor of Poco F1. Fans are now wondering what could be the reason for the delay in the announcement of Pocophone F2.
There are many contributing factors for the possible delay of the announcement of the successor of Pocophone F1. One could be due to the internal changes within the company itself. In July, Jai Mani, the leader of the Poco sub-brand, was reported to have left Xiaomi.
There was no official explanation as to why the executive left the company, but considering that he was in-charge at Poco, his departure could have affected the development and, eventually, the release window of PocophoneF2. Another possible explanation for the delayed announcement of Pocophone F2 could be because the company is considering that it would have Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Snapdragon 855 Plus.
There are also several claims that the Redmi K20 Pro has already replaced the Pocophone F2 considering its specs and features. The Redmi K20 Pro runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip with three rear cameras, a pop-up selfie camera, and a 4,000 mAh battery. It is also retailed at a very competitive price of $400.
A few weeks ago, several leaked images of the alleged Pocophone F2 surfaced online along with Geekbench test scores. However, the company has remained silent about this and has not yet made any statement related to those leaked images. So, when can we expect the announcement of Pocophone F2?
If the recent Twitter post of Xiaomi's Manu Kumar Jain is to go by, then the Pocophone F2 could be announced in November. The Xiaomi executive recently shared an image on his twitter account, showing a whiteboard on the background with writings. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that under the number 11 is the name Poco.
Fans were quick to speculate that the number 11 stands for November as the 11th month of the year, and the Poco word stands for the announcement of the Pocophone F2. It is worth noting that these are mere speculations and not official statements from Xiaomi or Poco. Because of this, we advise that you take it with a pinch of salt.
