AMD is preparing to debut its third generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors in November 2019. Interestingly, Intel is also raising the level of its popular engines with its most powerful and most competitive lineup of CPU. A recent benchmark score reveals the performance of both upcoming processors and based on the scores, it appears that Intel overpowers AMD.

Reports have it that Intel is making huge claims about its Intel Cascade Lake-X chips. The said chips, according to the company, can provide up to twice the performance per dollar of the Intel Skylake-X processors. Additionally, Big Blue is planning to disrupt AMD's momentum by launching its new performance monsters not later than October including the Intel i9 10920X 12 Core CPU.

Vendors claims are most often exaggerated, so most of the time, we do not take what their claims as gospel. However, if the latest leaked benchmark scores of the Intel Cascade Lake-X 12 Core i9 10920X CPU is to be believed, it appears that the promises made by Intel might very well come to fruition. Based on the leaked scores, the Intel i9 10920X 12 Core CPU easily outperforms the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2920X 12 core.

The Intel i9 10920X 12 Core CPU offers more than 12 percent better single thread performance in the Geekbench 4 and 30 percent better in the multi-threaded performance in the same test. Interestingly, the Intel i9 10920X 12 Core CPU exceeded the AMD 2950X 16 core in a single thread as well as in multi-thread performance. As a whole, the results are impressive for yet another installment of 14nm.

If AMD is still uncompetitive, these results will imply that Intel has achieved a massive boost in terms of performance considering that its 9th generation parts barely level up compared to their predecessors. Interestingly, AMD Ryzen 9 3950X is anticipated to arrive in November loaded with 16 cores and expected to be retailed for only $749. So far, we have limited information about the upcoming AMD Ryzen, but soon after the release, we will know what they are really capable of when they are subjected to test benches.

Since this is a Geekbench test score, we strongly suggest that these tests, like all others, have limitations. It is helpful though in gauging our expectations on the Intel i9 10920X 12 Core CPU.
